Mount Altar
A Different Sort of Hike!

This trip started as we gathered at North Atlanta Church of Christ parking lot. This was a new meeting area for one of the Caleb's hikes but thanks to the preparations of the trip leaders, John and Jo, everyone found the meeting area OK.
We were getting a later start than most other Caleb's hikes meeting at 11:00 am, but that was due to the fact the the NACC Aisle trail was located so close to the church so we cut out the travel time we normally take to get to the trailhead. In fact we all managed to complete the whole trip by 2:00 pm which I think will stand as the shortest Caleb's dayhike on record. More...

Chinnabee Silent Trail
Our First Summer Hike
I was so looking forward to our first spring hike – comfortable weather, wildflowers, trees in leaf, and so forth. Unfortunately, it never happened. We experienced a heat wave that weekend, and our trip became – for all intents and purposes – our first summer hike.
A group of seven of us assembled that morning at Cumberland. When Jo and I pulled into the parking lot, a couple of people were already there.
